Gathering @ The Mind Cafe
Organised a gathering with my secondary school classmates today. Quite surprised that I have taken the initiative to do that. The turnout was not too fantastic, but at least it was easier to find a place for fewer people.
We went to the Mind Cafe @ boat quay today. I had wanted to bring them to Pitstop Cafe, but the place was booked for an event for today. Meet up with the rest at Raffles Place MRT at 7pm. I was the first to arrive. Had wanted to walk here but as it was raining, I took the train instead. Pat came followed by Charlene. Finally SP came with her boyfriend and another colleague. She said YY would be late, so we made our way to the cafe.
This outlet is smaller compared to the one at Prinsep Street, which I went the other time. The place is even smaller than Pitstop Cafe IMO. The layout looks similar though. There were no oneother customers around when we came (and also when we left). And only 2 staff was around to serve the customers.
Game collection also looked quite small, compared to the other outlet.
This is the 1st game we played while waiting for our dinner. Its called Halli Galli. I think its quite similar to Snorta, except that now the objective is to collect as many cards as possible. Each player took turns to turn a card. Each card has a random number of the same pattern on it. When there are exactly 5 of the same pattern showing on the table, the first player to ring the bell will collect all the opened cards on the table.
Break for dinner before continuing to the 2nd game, where YY and Paul came. This game is called Wits & Wagers. Everyone writes an answer (which is always a number) and these are arranged in order from the smallest to the largest. Then everyone will proceed to place bet (in terms of chips) on the answer they think is correct. The one which is closest to the correct answer will win the bet. There are a total of 7 questions. For the 1st 6 questions, the maximum bet is 10 points. But at the last question, everyone is allowed to "show hand". Pat won the last bet and in the process got the most point at the end of the game.

Our last game of the day was Telepaths. This game had to be played in teams (a pair to be exact). At their turn, each team would roll a die to determine which side of the card to look at (either words or picture). From there the players will try to anticipate what their teammates will associate with various pictures and words, and match the answers. The number of correct matches will determine the number of steps to move on the board. The 1st team to reach the goal wins. YY and Charlene were the winner for this game.
Oh no, we don't have telepathy...
Finally, took a group photo just before we left.
