Malaysia Trip: Day 1 (Genting)

Went for a trip to Malaysia on the Deepavali / Hari Raya Puasa holiday week from 31st Oct to 5th Nov... Was supposed to be there for 3 days but last minute extended my stay til Saturday... Got up at around 530am on the day, washed up, had breakfast then went down to take a cab to pick XY up to go board the coach at Golden Mile at around 630am...

The coach was supposed to leave at 730am but it came about 15 minutes late... The coach then travel to Tuas Second Link, to think that this is my 1st time crossing the custom at this checkpoint.... Then, the bus travel for about 1.5 hours before stopping by at Yong Peng... me and XY grabbed a bite at the place before the journey resumed... Journey was smooth throughout although the bus was rather jerky... However juz before reaching KL, there was a slight traffic jam...

By the time the bus arrived at the Puduraya Bus Terminal in KL, it was nearly 2pm... then went to buy the bus ticket to go up to Genting which is at 3pm... In the meantime, had lunch at the bus terminal... The journey up Genting was less than an hour and by the time we reached the Lower Genting Skyway station, it was already past 4pm... But then we were still quite blur when we arrived, dunno where to go or where our hotel is... Then asked direction from the police at there who said that there is a free shuttle bus going to our hotel... But the bus would only leave at ard 5pm, so we decided to take a cab down instead... The 1st driver quoted RM30 to bring us there which we promptly refused... Finally settled for RM15 with another driver...

So we managed to reach our hotel, Awana Genting Highlands Golf & Country Resort... Waited quite a while for check-in, at the same time got a F & E package coupon from the reception which entitles us to some free meals, skyway rides and discounts... After putting all our barang barang, decided to go up to the top of the highlands... however we would still need to take the shuttle bus back to the Lower Skyway Station, which the next one is at 615pm, as we juz miss the 515pm bus...

It has been a while since I have come to Genting, so much changes have occurred since then... went jalan jalan for a while and planning what we shall or can do the next day over here... Settle down for dinner at ard 730pm at First World Cafe... There was much variety in the buffet, but he food was so-so... however I liked the dessert on offer which was barley with coconut milk...

Then after dinner, continue to explore First World Plaza further... went into the arcade to play a few games as well... Managed to get a map of the theme park (indoor and outdoor) from the information counter and decided to spent the next day at the outdoor theme park... Finally took the skyway back down and caught the last shuttle bus back to our hotel...

DOTA: The Gathering

Date / Time: 29th October 2005, 1500hrs
Venue: Toa Payoh Entertainment Center, (name of shop forgotten...)
Attendees: =.=, 007, 13, cloud, Dalaimana, dragon, kian, lioncub, marcus, Newbie, Obiwan, Reddyone, singpoo, sotong, templar, thierry, UT

This session was organised by Obiwan (thanks for the effort man...), it was a get-together cum gaming session... Only seen quite a few people for the 1st time, like cloud, drag, marcus etc etc... And by the end of the session, we still only address each other by the nick rather than the real name... :)

Game 1:

Sentinel Scrouge

Dalaimana (Shaman)
Obiwan (Razor)
thierry (Bristleback)

dragon (Skeleton King)
lioncubNewbie(??)

This game was pretty imbal cos it was 3 v 2 and also drag was having some problem with his mouse... seems like there was a lag in the reponse time for the mouse, due to the graphics settings.... nothing spectacular really, push in all the way in less than 1/2 hour...

Game 2:

Sentinel Scrouge

cloud (CM)
Dalaimana (Shaman)
thierry (Bristleback)
UT (Lich)

007 (Chaos Knight)
Newbie (DP)
Reddyone (Sniper)
singpoo (Terrorblade)
sotong (Lion)

Usually in a 4 v 5 game, the game is always in favour to the team of 4, unless the game really stretches... maybe this is due to the slight headstart in gold and also more exp when farming... This game lasted for about 1.5hrs, i think... early game face 2 heroes at the bottom lane (Lion and Terrorblade i think), but then managed to hold out for a while.. though died a couple of times... Have to chiong during GB bcos i'm the only tanker for the team... but as the game progressed, managed to build up my items and get more kills... Managerd to push through the center in the end...

Game 3:

Sentinel Scrouge

cloud (Rooftrellen)
Dalaimana (Enigma)
thierry (Necrolyte)
UT (Sand King)

=.= (Skeleton King)
13 (Visage)
dragon (Centaur)
lion (BF)

This was a tough game when you looked at the line-up, but from the hero choice, Sentinel looks stronger, with many AoE stunners... again went bottom lane at the start and met drag... was pretty glad cos i can harass him with my range attack... but then =.= came by to help and I had no choice but to stay near my tower... then DM came to help outand we managed to push them back abit and get a couple of kills... Twice i remember trying to teleport away before getting killed, but twice also failed... However, during GB we have the advantage of alternate stun, so most of the time my team prevail... In the end we won the game as well...

I think we all had great fun during the session, and after that we went for dinner and debrief session... :P

Badminton Session

Its been like more than half a year since I last played badminton, so when YM asked me to join for the session last weekend, I promptly agreed (although he was not around for this session)... Was trying to borrow a racket from PK before leaving office but he was not around, so I just grabbed his racket and left the office... :p

For this session, only DT, S and me from office went... It seems like less and less people from office is going for the session, according to S... Anyway, it was DT who drove us there and we reached at about 650pm... BTW this session was at Delta Sports Complex... We were the first to arrive and was wondering which court was booked for our usage, as the person who booked the court had not arrived yet...

After 10 minute or so, the people started coming in one by one and we just got on with the game... Finally I think there were a total of 14 people, with 2 courts booked... However there was an empty court around, so we just go over and played on that court... Think I've played around 7 ~ 8 games... and felt pretty good after a nice work out...

Went over to the hawker center opposite the complex for dinner after the session... the char siew rice I ordered was rather awful, and I dun even managed to finish the rice, considering that I was very hungry at that point of time (do take note of that...)... Head for home after dinner...

(guess my limbs would be aching all over tomorrow after such long time without exercising...)
