Skating and Gaming

Another wet wet weekend this week. But still went ECP for skating on saturday. Was not very sure if the session would still be on, so messaged FL quite a few times. In the end still went but decided not to bring my skates as I'm afraid of getting it wet (and also I was too lazy to clean it up after that... :p).

I was caught in a jam along Eunos Link (Bedok Reservoir T-junction) to Jalan Eunos (just before Still Road). Was stuck there like almost 1/2 an hour... Thought I was late as I only reached ECP at about 215pm but no one was there?! (Was supposed to meet at 2). Called FL but no reply, then called S who says YM caused them to be late... They did arrived 15 minutes later, and we waited for the rest at Mac... =.=, who was at ECP since morning, joined a while later. Then we found out that FL, Irene and her husband, Colin, were buying new skates at Upper Paya Lebar and would be here quite late. So we get started first. FL, Irene and Colin did arrived when we were on our way back from Fort Road...

After skating, the 7 of us decided to dine together and after some discussion, went to a restaurant along East Coast Road, recommended by =.=... The signature dish here is Guinness Pork Ribs, which we ordered a big serving. It did have a bit of after taste of the beer, which was quite nice but not that fantastic... Ordered a total of 6 dishes, including my favourite frog dish, which was done with chicken essence here. But somehow, this dish was quite blend with only the ginger taste (maybe cos its steamed)... The rest of the dishes are pretty normal and did not left much of an impression...

After dinner, went to Pitstop Cafe at the suggestion of S. We split into 2 group and I tagged along with Colin's car... =.=, S and YM took a cab there... We arrived later then the other group as we had a hard time finding a parking lot. Upon reaching the cafe, S told me she lost her handphone, probably leaving it behind on the cab they took here. When YM and =.= tried calling her number, they found that the handphone was switched off. Bad news!! To think that I have found a handphone on a cab I took home on Thursday... Also me and YM were discussing this topic over dinner, like having activate the sim card lock and how this would prevent someone from returning the handphone to you even if they found it as there is no way the person could contact you...

Anyway back to the Pitstop, this time as there were 7 of us, there weren't many games that we could play (most games were for 3 ~ 5 players). Then the people here recommended us a game called BonanzaBohnanza, some bean planting game... I think there were too many players, and each were taking a long time on his turn, so one has to wait a while before his turn is reached again. This make the game rather drawn-out and it became bored after a few rounds... Then we switched to Carcassone, some tile laying game involving a lot of thinking and strategizing.... For this we decided to form teams, so that there would be less players --> less waiting time... The teams were: 1) Irene and Colin, 2) S and YM, 3) FL and me and 4) =.= . We are still halfway through our games when the time is up, but the bosses here still allow us to complete our game without any charges (how nice), in which it takes us about another half hour...

By the time we are done, it was around 1130pm. Walked to Raffles Place MRT to board the train home.
