Chelsea 1 Arsenal 1

Honours even at Stamford Bridge, but in truth, the Gunners were probably a bit lucky as their opponent hit the woodwork no less than 3 times, one of which right at the death. Although they were also a bit unlucky as there was certainly a call for a foul in the build up to Chelsea's equalizer. And of all people, the man involved was "Cashley" Cole. Nonetheless,I was a bit relieved when the final whistle went.

The match really came alive in the last 20 minutes or so. The gunners took the lead against the run of play , through Flamini, who had worked tirelessly throughout the match. Not only did he score, he also prevented a Chelsea winner by getting his studs onto Lampard's goal bound shot just before the final whistle to touch it on to the post and safety. Lehmann again fumbled when he was supposed to be the one to lead by example with a young back four in front of him.

Of course the skipper of the day, Gilberto Silva, also had to be mentioned. He protected the two young Swiss center back, who had a torrid time really, well enough. One incident when Senderos gave the ball away, and Drogba was ready to pounce when he managed to foil the Ivorian's attempt.

Overall though, I would say this was a good result. It could have been better or worse...

(And the quote of the day:"How did he (Essien) score from so far out and yet missed from so close in")
